February 24th, 2008 Mosquito Lagoon Light Tackle Charter Fishing Report

The weather's been cool and fishing has improved as the day warms. Redfish and spotted seatrout are roaming the flats of the Mosquito Lagoon, Port Canaveral and the Banana River. Fly fishing the Indian River remains at high performance. Inshore Saltwater fishing the Cape Canaveral and Cocoa Beach area is perfect this time of year as well.

The guided trips I do there is a special trip for tailing redfish and giant gator trout. Along with that, the fly fishing the Mosquito Lagoon this time of year is at some of the highest quality it reaches. Now is the time for an Orlando Florida redfish trip. Sight fishing paradise.

The backcountry waters this time of year are always the focus point. The main key to having a good day of charter fishing is this: Show up at the time the guide requires. Follow and listen to their directions, they are there to help you have a good fishing trip. Practice your casting techniques before coming. This will help you with targeted casts and improve your catch ratio.

As always I beg of all of you that fish this area, the Mosquito Lagoon and north Indian River to please practice catch and release. The future of this fishery depends upon everyone involvement.
