Freshwater Fishing Knots • Saltwater Fishing Knots

Below is a simple list of knots that can be used out here on the central Florida flats for light tackle fishing applications or for this matter any where you fish in the world. These instructional videos can help you tie easy, fast, accurate, strong and simple fishing knots. I use all of these fishing knots out here on the Mosquito Lagoon, Atlantic waters and Indian River for all of the fly fishing, spin fishing, live bait and artificial lures. These can easily as well be used for all of freshwater fishing, including fishing for largemouth bass.

How to tie a fishing knot:

Canoe Man Loop Knot - This knot was originally designed for saltwater fishing from a canoe, hence the name "Canoe Man Loop Knot". It is an easy knot to tie for leader to jigs, lures to the leader, live and artificial bait. It allows free movement of the tackle with the tag end pointing downward and is a very strong knot to use. Can be used for tarpon fishing with heavy leader, redfish fishing on the flats or around bridges, top water trout fishing, Atlantic black drum and snook fishing. Works well with fluorocarbon leader up into the 100 pound class.

Uni to Uni Knot - This knot is designed to join two lines together of equal diameter and is mostly used when combining braid to mono. Or going from your main line to you leader. It, at times, can be used to tie directly to your hook or lure.

The Spider Hitch Knot - This knot is great when used either as a shock leader or to double the line diameter when going from braid to a fluorocarbon leader. It brings the braid to a closer size in diameter as that of the leader line. Perfect for use on the flats along with numerous other fishing applications. This is a very easy knot to tie and to learn.

How to add Braid - This video will show you the "Correct" way to put braided fishing line on your spool.

Add a Fly to Your Loop - This video will show you how to add a lure or fly.

Join Two Loops Together - This video will show you the "Correct" way to join two perfection loop knots together.

The Perfection Loop Knot - Here is a very simple knot to tie for the end of your fly leader. It makes a simple loop to join from your leader to your fly line. Takes seconds to tie. This can also be used to tie to your flies and or lures as well. If tied correctly it tends to be a very strong knot.
