March 1st, 2008 New Smyrna Beach and Daytona Beach Fishing Reports

As spring time approaches the fishing is improving. Mullet tend to be your best bet for live bait. D.O.A. plastics will work well too for redfish, trout and drum. Use the 1/4 oz. shrimps in the Nite Glow or the glitter's. The Banana River has been excellent for redfish and trout on light tackle sight fishing and fly fishing. Some of the worlds best fishing is going on right now out here on the Mosquito Lagoon and Indian River. Mosquito Lagoon fly fishing tends to be improving as the days go by. The New Smyrna Beach and Daytona Beach fishing reports have been strong and informative. As always shrimp or crab patterns work well. A nice hand tied mullet fly will bring the big gator trout to the surface as well. Truely a world class fishing trip.
