January 29, 2008 Titusville and Cocoa Beach Fishing Reports The day turned out warmer with south winds, water temperatures began to rise and the mid section of the Mosquito Lagoon was the best fishing. Fly fishing the Mosquito Lagoon has been on fire. Crab and shrimp patterns in natural colors seem to be a good choice. Slow presentations will be most productive for red fish. The Cocoa Beach fishing has been improving as well on the north end of the Indian River near Titusville. By the end of the week, the temperatures should rise and fishing should improve. Trout are moving all through out the entire Indian River Lagoon system. Use D.O.A. shrimps or fly fishing methods to produce high quality trips. Just a few more months and the tarpon fishing and snook fishing will return to the Edgewater and New Smyrna Beach areas of the Mosquito Lagoon.
